Birther in chief' invited to dinner by Harry Reid 'I have no fear of anything. I'll ask him about eligibility on camera'

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, responsible for putting a charge in races where a seat in the U.S. Senate is at stake for the party, has invited Orly Taitz, the California lawyer responsible for a long list of legal and other challenges to Barack Obama's eligibility, to one of its events that will feature the president.

The invitation prompted Taitz to post a copy on her website under the headline "You want what Mr. Reid????????????"

"I have no fear of anything. I will ask him [about eligibility] on camera," Taitz told WND today.

The e-mailed invitation read: "Please join members of the New York House and Senate congressional delegation along with Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader, Chris Van Hollen, Chair, DCCC; Robert Menendez, Chair, DSCC with President Barack Obama."

It's set for Sept. 22 at the Roosevelt Hotel on at 45 East 45th Street at Madison Ave. in New York. Oh yes, 4:30 p.m.

And, of course, it's a fundraising event.

Taitz, who still has court cases pending on appeal, has launched several of the high-profile cases challenging Obama's eligibility to even occupy the Oval Office, including cases that have been heard in Florida, in Washington and in California. Her California case remains on appeal, and others are in various stages of the appeal process.

They all revolve around the controversy that stems from the Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, which states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."

A number of challenges and lawsuits have been based on the constitutional requirement, some alleging Obama does not qualify because he was not born in Hawaii in 1961 as he claims. Others say he fails to qualify because he was a dual citizen of the U.S. and the United Kingdom when he was born, and the framers of the Constitution specifically excluded dual citizens from eligibility.



Complicating the issue is the fact that besides Obama's actual birth documentation, he has kept from the public documentation including his kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, files from his years as an Illinois state senator, Illinois State Bar Association records, baptism records and his adoption records.

The e-mail stated it was from Sen. Harry Reid and included a DSCC.org address.

A WND request to the campaign committee for a comment did not generate a response.

But Taitz noted in an e-mail. "Why am I getting this invitation from Harry Reid? Is it a mistake or Harry Reid is trying to push eligibility to the forefront and get rid of Obama in order to save his own skin."




"That would be a 'KODAK MOMENT' for sure!" suggested "Veritas," on the Taitz website. But another was skeptical that anything would come of a confrontation between the attorney and the man she's accused of usurping the American presidency.

"It is puzzling," the forum participant wrote. "Perhaps Harry Reid's assistant erroneously merged supporters and opponents into one mailing list for massive mailing of this invitation. I guess the price of that photo-op will be in the vicinity of $20,000-$30,000."

"Even if you attend it: It is very doubtful that the organizers would allow you to raise the issue of illegitimacy."

"This gets stranger by the day!! … What are you going to do!" added another.

"If we take a few moments to think about this, we can 'reid' (LOL! Sorry about that!) between the lines! He's scared! They're all scared! They now know what the 'real world' is like!"

"Would be nice to ask the eligibility question over dinner with Harry," added another.

Yephora wrote, "Bring a videographer, challenge those crooks with the right questions and post the whole thing on YouTube! I predict it would be a sensation."
